Tokyo, March 27, 1908. PROPOSED visit of Prince Ito to Peking (see my telegram No. 11 of the 1st ultimo).
At an interview which took place yesterday, Prince Ito stated that he considered it would be wiser to postpone his visit to Peking sine die owing to the feeling excited in China by the "Tatsu Maru" affair and for other reasons. I told the Prince that I concurred.
